• Self-care is not selfish, Self-care is self-preservation

I would like to remind you of how significant you are in this world. You matter! Please take care of yourself. You deserve to live a happy and healthy life. Are you meeting your basic needs? I always ask my clients if they are eating, sleeping, drinking water, and exercising (ENOUGH). You can never have too much self-care. You need a foundation to work with to achieve the results you would like. Evaluate some of your lifestyle factors and determine what changes you need to make, starting today!

Are you eating enough or too much? Most people are not making time to eat throughout the day. Allow yourself a lunch break! We all have such busy schedules and usually eat while working. You can take 15 minutes out of your day for mindful eating,  this does not include sending emails or taking phone calls. What are you eating? "You are what you eat." If you feel sluggish and bloated, take a look at what you are putting into your body. Foods affect your moods!

Are you sleeping too much or not enough? Most people report sleeping 4-6 hours of sleep a night. I've heard we should be getting 8 hours of sleep! I realize this is ideal, but we cannot function without a well-rested night's sleep.

Are you drinking enough water? We live in the Arizona sun. Please stay hydrated. Dehydration can be fatal. The benefits of drinking enough water are: cleansing out your system, a better complexion, and a faux parasympathetic nervous response. You decrease anxiety just by drinking water.

Are you exercising? Exercise decreases anxiety, depression, anger, stress, etc. Exercising produces happy hormones and allows you to feel good naturally.
